Although always busy at work,  you need for vacation sometimes. Resting at home may not be enough because you need not only sleep but also a fresh atmosphere. Camping is one of recreation where you can take the time for yourself or spend time with family. Camping can be healthy and fun at the same time because you can enjoy the beauty of natural scenery, adventure, as well as sport.



Camping describes a range of activities and approaches to outdoor accommodation. Survivalist campers set off with as little as possible to get by, whereas recreational vehicle travelers arrive equipped with their own electricity, heat, and patio furniture. Camping may be combined with hiking, as in backpacking, and is often enjoyed in conjunction with other outdoor activities such as canoeing, climbing, fishing, and hunting. Camping was first introduced by Thomas Hiram Holding, a British traveling tailor. He experienced camping in the wild since his youth, he spent a lot of time with his parents traveling in the American prairies. Then he started cycling and camping tour with some friends in Ireland. His book on his Ireland experience, Cycle and Camp in Connemara led to the formation of the first camping group in 1901, the Association of Cycle Campers, later to become the Camping and Caravan Club.

Although seem trivial, but you have to prepare all the needs and equipment for camping, because your campsite may in a place that away from the store or other resources.

Things to consider when camping, among others:

The situation or condition at the camping site; Heat, Cold, Damp, Forest, Close to Lake, Dry, Beach, presence of insects / animals dangerous, it affects the equipment that you need to bring, Think the distance of campsite with a source of food, shops and telecommunication facilities.

Time, the longer days of camping the more you must count and prepare.

If you decide to backpack, equipment that you bring must be limited to the gear and equipment that are very important according to the backpack capacity. But if your "camping" just for recreation and fun, you should choose a place of recreation or campsites that are close to the city / countryside, and has easy road access and reachable by your vehicle.

The following is a list of camping equipment you may need :
  • Food and beverages
  • Backpacks, Wallets, Identity cards, Money, ATM card, Credit Cards
  • First aid, Insect repellent, particularly one that has DEET, sunscreens for protecting the skin, the Emergency Preparedness Kit
  • The tents and protective, Rope, Stake
  • The sleeping bag or blankets, sleeping mats
  • Jackets, clothing, raincoat, shoes, hats, helmets
  • (Multi-tool) Hammers, axes, knives, machetes, saws, fishing gear
  • Scrape, Firewood for campfires
  • Cooking tools, matches, stove, pot
  • Lanterns, Flashlights
  • Plastic bags for garbage or trash
  • Chuck box to hold camp kitchen items for food preparation, consumption, and clean-up
  • Cathole trowel for sanitation in areas where a toilet is not provided
  • Cooler to store perishables and beverages. If electricity is available, a thermoelectric cooler or Stirling engine can use without the need for ice. Campers at modern campgrounds will normally bring perishable foods in coolers while backcountry campers will bring non-perishable foods such as dried fruits, nuts, jerky, and MRes.
  • Beverages or portable water filter for areas that have access to rivers or lakes
  • Cooking implements such as a tripod grill chained, Dutch oven, or La Cotta clay pot can be used for cooking on a campfire. A portable stove can be used where campfires are forbidden or impractical. If using a campground with electricity, an electric frying pan or slow cooker can be used.
  • Global Positioning System (GPS), gadget, cell phone, radio
  • More Portable equipment you may need : a. Inflatable boat, b. Portable bike, c. Cameras, camcorders, d. Laptop and printer, TV or TV tuner, e. Reading books, notebooks, stationery, Map, f. Portable chairs, g. Power generator
Of course, you do not have to bring all the equipment above, you can bring the most needed only.

But, do not let your fun camping plans be disrupted due to an unexpected situation because you forgot to bring essential supplies.
